Eleanor Agnes Winkler Hermesch, 87, from Seneca, Ks joined her husband in heaven on August 13, 2018. She was surrounded by her family, the joy of her life, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital.

She was born December 31, 1930 on a farm near Kelly, KS, the only daughter of Eugene and Philomena (Kongs) Winkler. She attended St. Bede’s schools and graduated from St. Bede’s High School in Kelly, Ks. She married Raymond J. Hermesch in Kelly on December 30, 1950. They spent 52 years together, 41 on the dairy farm. Raymond preceded her in death, August 29, 2003.

She was preceded in death by her brother Linus Winkler on November 4, 2004.

Eleanor is survived by 3 daughters and 6 sons, Linda Honeyman (Rick), Lawrence, Ks; Judy Dowd (Matt), Topeka, Ks; David (Tammy), Coweta, Ks; Dennis (Sandy), Windsor, Co; Diane Cardwell (Rick), Fort Collins, Co; Gary, Tulsa, Ok; Kevin (Cathi), Cedar Rapids, IA; Duane (Tish), Goff, Ks and Bruce, Seneca, Ks. She loved creating and reminiscing about the many wonderful family times. Eleanor treasured time with her 24 grandchildren and 25 great –grandchildren. Her favorite pastimes were cooking for family and friends, making homemade apple pies, mowing her yard and walk with Ellen.

She is also survived by brothers Albert (Ellen), Marvin (Theresa Marie) and Leroy (Eunice) and preceded in death by her parents and brother Linus. She will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Eleanor depended strongly on her faith and was a lifelong member of St. Bede’s Parish and Alter Society.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 17, 2018 at St. Bede’s Catholic Church in Kelly. Burial will be in the St. Bede’s Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Kelly Baseball Association or St. Bede’s Parish Building Fund.
