Darlene Dorothy Wilcox Turnbull of Pawnee City, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Premier Estates.  She was born November 3, 1926, to Joe and Frances (Clema) Wilcox at Table Rock, Nebraska.

For three years of her early life she lived in Nebraska City, the remainder of her life in Pawnee County.

She graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1945 and worked for Ervin Colwell Studios for four years, and for A R Ried Cleaner  and Tailor shop for 6 years.

For 32 years she was employed at Campbell Soup in Tecumseh.

On February 19, 1955, she married John S. Turnbull.  John passed away November 25, 1999.

Because her mother was wheel chair bound, Darlene and her sister, Arvila took care of household chores while growing up.

Darlene  loved to go to dances, loved music and entertainment.

Darlene and John were successful gardeners and sold produce from their large garden on their farm.  She was an excellent cook and made beautiful and delicious desserts.

Darlene was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Frances, and her sister, Arvila Wilcox Wolfe.

She is survived by a niece, Carla Wolfe and husband Greg Marples, brother-in-law, Gene Wolfe, sister-in-law, Laura Turnbull, other nieces, nephews and many friends.

Services 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Officiating Pastor Connor Barr.  Visitation Friday, June 8, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m., at Wherry Mortuary, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Interment at the Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City.  Memorials to family choice.
