Charles E. Perkins, Sr., 81, Omaha, Nebraska, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Saturday from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at the funeral home. Charles E. Perkins was born March 2, 1937 in Atchison, Kansas. The son of Frank and Mae (Raferty) Perkins.  He graduated from Atchison High School in 1955.Charles was a loyal and dedicated union member of Boiler maker Local #83. Charles traveled to many states to help build and maintain many different power stations, oil refineries and water towers under the representation of Boilermaker Local #83.Charles was married and divorced to Gail Lee (Johnston) Perkins Blanc.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlene (Perkins) Sanders and Larry; Della (Perkins) Noll Kephart and Jay and one son Charles E. Perkins, Jr., and Becky.Grandchildren, Jason Skarboe, Mandy (Skarboe) Meister, Laci (Skarboe) Majorins, Rachel Noll, Sarah Perkins Nichols, Charles E. Perkins, III, Nicholas Perkins and 11 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Charles lived in many different cities and towns while working as a Boilermaker and after he retired, Charles loved God, his family and friends very much.Family members who preceded him in death included his parents, Frank and Mae Perkins, brothers, Frank Perkins, James Perkins, a sister Bette Mae Besette, and twin great granddaughters.

Charles had an adventurous side trying many different activities as he lived, he raced cars, scuba dived, sky dived, flew a gyro copter pulled by cars, took flying lessons, rode motorcycles and owned and operated carnival equipment.Charles also loved to travel.
