Robert William “Bob” Strawn, 83, of Denison, KS, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born May 15, 1934 in Valley Falls, KS, the son of William Ellis and Harriett A. (Gile) Strawn.

Bob graduated from Denison High School in 1953 and had lived in the Denison community since 1949. He worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company; retiring after 40 years in 1994. Bob was also a farmer and stockman. He raised exotic chickens and Hereford cattle.

Bob married Sallyann Cashman on October 16, 1955 in Denison, KS. They celebrated 62 years of marriage. Sallyann survives of the home. Other survivors include 3 sons, Daniel A. Strawn of Detroit, TX, Noel W. Strawn of Jacksonville, NC, John E. Strawn (Cindy) of Holton, KS; a daughter, Janet F. Billquist of Holton, KS; a sister, Sarah Lynn DeVader of Holton, KS; a brother, Curtis Strawn of Topeka, KS; 2 step-sisters, Theresa McNary of Ozawkie, KS and Julie Kennedy of Topeka, KS; 2 grandsons, 7 granddaughters and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, James Strawn.

Memorial graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Denison Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
