Leo F. Wenzl, 87, of rural Elk Creek, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018.  He was born to Leo and Christine (Christen) on September 9, 1930. 

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Olberding on April 23, 1959 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Steinauer, Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Wenzl, children, Gary Wenzl and wife Jane of Tecumseh, Karla Daehling and husband Kevin of Sterling, Danny Wenzl and wife Lisa of Burchard,  Julie Shea and fiance’ Joseph Delgado of Firth, Diane Ackerman of Phoenix, AZ, Jimmy Wenzl of Sterling, Leslie Ottemann and Kurt of Lincoln, 22  grandchildren, 2  great-grandchildren,  siblings, Louis Wenzl of Lincoln, Jim Wenzl of Lincoln, Don and Bonnie Wenzl of Lincoln, David Wenzl of Steinauer, and Tony and Carol Wenzlof Lincoln, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons-in-law, William Shea and Clark Ackerman, sisters, Mary Ann Wagner and Bernice Beals, brothers, Paul and Luke Wenzl and sisters in law, Jean, Sue and Eva Wenzl.  

Mass of Christian Burial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Steinauer, Nebraska with Father Michael Christensen officiating.

Visitation will be at the Wherry Mortuary in Tecumseh, Nebraska, Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Memorials may go to the family’s choice.

Interment will be in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Steinauer, Nebraska.
