George " Ray" Meyers

George "Ray" Meyers, 73, of Horton, Kansas passed away at his home on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

He was born on April 7, 1944 in Horton, Kansas the son of Walter Raymond and Ethel Marie Eyer Meyers. He graduated from Fairbury High School. Ray then went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force for six years and retired from the Army National Guard after seventeen years. He worked for the City of Horton for over thirty three years and retired as the Sanitation Superintendent. Ray was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. On June 23, 1967 he married Ruth Ann Dexter in Hiawatha, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Meyers of the home; two sons, Kevin (Tammy) Meyers of Tracy, Missouri and Darren (Mindy) Meyers of Horton, Kansas; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Meyers and a brother, Rodney Meyers.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. Inurnment and Military graveside rites will follow at the Horton Cemetery.
