She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing scrabble, and dancing.

We're honored to pay tribute to our mother. She was a hard-working lady dedicated to her family. She never complained but always accomplished the job at hand.  Her quiet demeanor never demanded praise or attention. But her children knew the "wrath of mom" if they stepped out of line. Your children are grateful and appreciative of all the sacrifices you made for us. We won't remember you for the "things" you gave us but teaching us the importance of a moral character and a good work ethic. We're grateful for your nightly prayers as you stood between our bedrooms teaching us the existence of a savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss your smile, rest in peace, Mother.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Larry (Amy) Kanning, Lawson, Mo, and daughters, Phyllis (Norman) Probst, KC, Mo, and Janette (Barry) Scanlon, OP, Ks. She was a grandmother to 7, great grandmother to 11, an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, and a friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Louise Brown, Herbert Johnson, Lorene Vogt, and Edna Fitzgerald.
