Lola Ireane Parkerson, 96, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Horton, Kansas, passed away on December 4, 2017 at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas.

She was born on July 19, 1921 in Hiawatha, Kansas the daughter of Ernest and Lillie Thompson Lassley. Lola graduated from Powhattan High School and from Highland Community College. Lola was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Horton where she taught Sunday school, held numerous offices and served on various committees. She was also a member of the American Baptist Women, Delphian Club, Horton Hospital Auxiliary, Farm Bureau Unit, Women's Chamber of Commerce, Topeka Baptist Church and was a former Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader.

On July 11, 1948 she married Charles Parkerson in Horton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1997.

Survivors include a son, Robert (Donna) Parkerson of Owasso, Oklahoma; four daughters, Patty (Gary) Anderson of Houlton, Wisconsin, Peggy (Rick) Schuetz of Hoyt, Kansas, Cheryl Hobbs and Sherri Nelson both of Topeka, Kansas; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Duwane and Kevin Parkerson and a great grandson, Hunter Arcuri.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery.
