Sandra Shafer, 65, of Hiawatha, KS, passed away October 31, 2017 at St. Joseph, MO. She was born November 18, 1951 at Abilene, KS to Charles and Leona (DeWitt) Fleagle.

She married Ray Shafer on December 20, 1974 at Falls City, NE.

Sandra was raised various places because her father worked construction in Nebraska and Kansas. When married the couple established their home in Morrill, KS then moved to Greeley, CO and in 1994 moved to Hiawatha and have lived there since. She and her husband were over the road truck drivers and together they logged over six million miles together. She was a member of First Brethren Church at Falls City.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Ray of Hiawatha, sons, Leroy Ward, Scott Davis and his wife Teresa, Jacob Shafer and his wife Sherry all of Hiawatha, brothers, Don Fleagle and his wife Margie of Reserve, KS, Charles Fleagle and his wife Yunnie and Robert Fleagle and his wife Tina both of Hiawatha, sisters, Betty Jo Berry of Hiawatha, Julia Swain of Elizabeth City, NC, seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Peggy Schoenfelder.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Victor Haworth officiating. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 7-8:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
