Leon P. Stallbaumer, 71, of Centralia, Kansas, died early Saturday morning, September 23, 2017, at his home.

Leon was born June 17, 1946 in Sabetha, the son of Paul and Marie H. Deters Stallbaumer. He attended Baileyville grade school and graduated from the 8th grade. He then attended Centralia School and graduated from High School in 1964. When he finished high school, he helped his father on the family farm, north of Centralia. In 1976, he took over his father’s farm and continued to farm and raise cattle until the day he died.

On June 14, 1969, he married Pam K. Finnigan at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. Leon was preceded in death by his father, Paul on October 14, 1997; his mother, on May 5, 2003; and two infant siblings, Gerald on December 3, 1942 and Jeanette on November 27, 1943. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville and the Knights of Columbus Council #1769.

Leon took immense pride in his family farm and was particular in the manicuring of his farm, always assuring it was in perfect condition. He loved to work on machinery taking it apart and fixing it, and then putting it back together. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very important to him.

Survivors include his wife, Pam of Centralia; a son, Bradley M.(Philisha) Stallbaumer of Centralia; a daughter, Laura A (Dan) Willcoxon of Topeka; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 26, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 8 P.M. Monday, September 25th, at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.
