Opal Pierce (September 24, 1927 – August 27, 2017)

Opal was born in the rurals of Leonardville, Kansas. She was the seventh child of George and Hulda (Ekstrom) Rosell.

Opal was married on December 22, 1948 to Gerald Pierce who preceded her in death on January 29, 2002. They were both known for their avid love of the Bible. They enjoyed visiting many people in the community and Doniphan County area by means of their door to door activity as Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include three daughters:  Susan (Lester) Peuker, Connie Leatherman, Mary (Ray) Merten and three sons:  Dow (Diane) Pierce, G.E. (Sheryl) Pierce and Jesse (Michelle) Pierce and several grandchildren as well as several great-grandchildren.

The body has been cremated.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to either Wathena Nursing Home Activities Department or The Worldwide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Memorial Service:  Saturday, September 9th at 10:00 A.M. with visitation to follow at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home, Troy, Kansas.

Private Family Inurnment:  Carnahan Creek Cemetery, Olsburg, Kansas.
