Kay Becker

Kay Becker (Robinson) died peacefully surrounded by her three sons on August 18th, 2017 in Atchison, KS, at the age of 69.

Kay is survived by her: Brother, Tom (Frances) Robinson, Atchison, KS; Sister Martha (David) Demmon, Pevely, MO; Son Tony (Tammy) Becker, Overland Park, KS; Son Eric (Angie) Becker, Augusta, KS; Son Matt (Becky) Becker, Manhattan, KS; and her beloved grandchildren: Madison, Nicole, Jacob, Jack, Nate, Toby, Zac, and Drew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John (Jack) and Mary Robinson. Kay was born in Lexington, NE on October 23rd, 1947 to John and Mary Robinson.

She graduated from Atchison High School in 1965. Kay married Robert Becker in 1967, they later divorced.

After settling in Everest, KS, Kay took on many roles in the community. She was a Cub Scout leader, a baseball coach, and a “mom” to the many friends of her children and those in the community. She was a book keeper for Monson Hardware, AC Oil, USD 430, and managed the Northfield Apartments in Everest.

Kay will always be remembered by her family and friends as a staple in the Everest community, and a selfless individual who was always willing to give of her time and talents. Kay loved her family above all things, and was more than willing to share a story of raising her boys. She was always available for a late night conversat ion, an early morning coffee, or just an afternoon chat. Her grandchildren always looked forward to visiting her, knowing that a game of side-yard baseball, puzzles, or card games were in store. Everyone who knew her will miss her vibrant personality and her willingness to always help…those who were lucky enough to partake in some of the late night conversations will definitely miss her chicken-n-noodles and biscuits-n-gravy.

The rosary will take place at Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, KS, on Wednesday, August 23rd at 6:30 pm, visitation to follow.

The funeral service will take place at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Horton, KS, on Thursday August 24th, at 12:00 pm with a lunch to follow. A private burial is planned at a later date.
