Irene May (Panko) Wright, 96 of Table Rock, Nebraska passed away on Monday, July 10, 2016 at her home.  She was born on June 22, 1921 to Albert and Mary (Skrabol) Panko in Crab Orchard, Nebraska.

Irene’s dad passed away when Irene, was 2 years old.  She was the youngest of 4 children.  Her mother worked hard to keep a roof over their heads.  Irene was sent to town to board in a lady’s home , helping with housework so she could go to school.  She was a big part of her husband’s Skelly service station, working alongside keeping books for him.  She always had a garden and would feed her family from the bounty raised. Irene gardened and canned well into her 90’s.

Irene married Dale Wright on December 31, 1940 in Crab Orchard, Nebraska, to this union four sons were born. Dale died in November of 2004.

Irene was a homemaker, worked for United States Post Office and the Table Rock Library. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Table Rock, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Panko, husband Dale, her brothers and sisters.

Irene is survived by her sons, Don (Pat) Wright of Lincoln, NE, Bob (Linda) Wright of Bettendorf, IA, John (Kathy) Wright of Columbus, NE, Jim (Pat) Wright of Pulaski, WI, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Verna Kizzy, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 17, 2017 at United Methodist Church in Table Rock, Nebraska. Officiating Pastor Dorothy Smith.  Register book signing on Sunday, July 16, 2017 from noon-5:00 p.m. at Wherry Mortuary, 919 G Street, Pawnee City, Nebraska.  Visitation on Monday one hour before service at United Methodist Church, Table Rock.
