Janice Annette Spiker

Janice Annette Spiker, 73, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on May 31, 2017 at the Maple Heights Nursing Center in Hiawatha, Kansas.

She was born on August 29, 1943 in Horton, Kansas the daughter of John and Evelyn Robinson Greer.

After high school Janice went on to graduate from Guards Business School in St. Joseph, Missouri. She worked for the Morrill & Janes Bank in Hiawatha as a teller before going to work for the Horton Community Hospital in the medical records department, were she worked for 43 years, before retiring.

Janice was a member of the Horton United Methodist Church, Horton Hospital Auxiliary and loved spending time with her grandchildren. On May 9, 1971 she married Duane Lentz in Horton, Kansas. They later were divorced. She then married William Spiker on August 25, 1990 in Holton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2007.

Survivors include a son, Tim (Rebecca) Lentz of Horton, Kansas; sister, Jeanne (Roger) Knudson of Everest, Kansas; step son, Bill (Dawn) Spiker III of Mayson, Ohio; step daughter, Rita (Robert) Hill of Everest, Kansas; six grandchildren, Emma Lentz, Carsen Lentz, Austin Spiker, Ryan Spiker, Madison Spiker and T.J. Spiker. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Burial will be at the Horton City Cemetery.
