Cleo Ann Tillery, 80, Meriden, formerly of Valley Falls, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Midland Care at Linnwood Park Home Plus at Valley Falls.
 
She was born March 20, 1937, at Oskaloosa, the daughter of Jack and Zelda Mae Davenport Dick. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1955.

In addition to being a homemaker, Cleo was a dental assistant for 38 years. She worked first in Topeka and then alongside her husband, Dr. Fred Tillery, in their dental practice in Valley Falls.

Cleo was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Centenarian Club, and PEO Chapter DK, all in Valley Falls. She was also a member of American Legion Post 225 at Ozawkie, and the Ladies of Moose Lodge 555 and the Women’s Dental Auxiliary, both in Topeka.    

She married James Fred Tillery, March 11, 1956, at the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa. He died April 27, 2006.

Survivors include three sons, Brad (Terry) Tillery, Meriden, Dr. Bruce Tillery, Ozawkie, and Bryan (Angie) Tillery, Valley Falls; her daughter, Carla (Dr. John) Davis, Georgetown, DE; two brothers Clifford (her twin), and Max Dick, both of Perry; her sister, Geraldine Vanover, Topeka; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017, at the Valley Falls United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
