Carolyn Marie Larson, 85, of Everest, Kansas, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Horton Community Hospital.

She was born on March 31, 1932 in Seattle, Washington, the daughter of John and Marie Hanson Holt.

Carolyn worked for the Washington State Employment office and was secretary at Martha & Mary nursing home in Poulsbo, Washington prior to her marriage. On December 28, 1957 she married Luther Larson in Poulsbo, Washington. She was a member of the Carol Baptist Church in Atchison, Kansas, and the Gideons Auxiliary, and enjoyed entertaining and cooking for missionary guests at their home, gardening, sewing and spending time with her family. After she had raised her children, she began a day care center in their home.

Survivors include her husband, Luther Larson of the home; daughters, Karen (David) Krueger of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Kristin (Jamie) LaJoie of St. Joseph, Missouri and Karlene (Timothy) Smith of Everton, Missouri; three sons, David (Linda) Larson of Lockport, New York, Daniel (Michelle) Larson of Everest, Kansas and Paul (Pamela) Larson of Solomon, Kansas; brother, Raymond Holt of Poulsbo, Washington; 21 grandchildren, Erik (Amanda), Rachel (Michael), Joel, Sarah, Emily (Jordan), Joseph, Ruth, Lydia, Luke, Rebecca (Jordan), Laura, Jenna, Rebekah, John, Heather (Justin), Joshua, Hannah, Kaitlin, Kirsten, Kassandra and Caleb; and 8 great grandchildren, Jordan, Abigail, Kye, Sydney, Desmond, Juliet, Toby and Jase.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Carol Baptist Church, 800 South 6th in Atchison, Kansas. The family will greet friends on Monday evening at the church from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, north of Everest, Kansas.
