Lynn Elmer Heiman, 65, of Seneca, Kansas, died unexpectedly on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at his daughter’s home in Kansas City, Missouri.

Lynn was born on July 18, 1951 in Axtell, to Elmer F. and Aurelia Macke Heiman. He grew up in the Baileyville community; and attended B & B High School, graduating with the Class of 1970. He attended Emporia State College for a couple of years. Lynn returned to Baileyville to work for his Father at the Baileyville State Bank. He began his career at the bank in 1972, joined the Board of Directors in 1974, became VP in 1978 and served as Board Secretary from 1983-1987; the family sold the bank to Elk State Bank in June of 2016, he continued to work until he retired in September of 2016.

Lynn married Connie E. Morrison on September 24, 1983 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. The couple celebrated 33 years of marriage; and enjoyed numerous trips during their lifetime together.

He was a member of Sts Peter & Paul Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Society, the Knights of Columbus Council 1769, where he was the past Grand Knight, the Ponce De Leon Assembly 283 of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus of Seneca, the Community Bankers Association, the Kansas Bankers Association, the Seneca Lions Club and was a past Treasure of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce.

Lynn enjoyed a good game of cards, bingo, traveling, playing golf, hunting, and watching football and basketball. 

He is survived by his wife, Connie; his three children, Sara Heiman of Manhattan, Kansas, Jennifer Heiman of Kansas City and Jeff Heiman of Seneca, Missouri; his mother Aurelia Heiman of Seneca, and his sisters, Marilyn (Paul) Boeding of Seneca and Judi (Rob) Stork of Topeka, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer on February 13, 2008; his father-in-law, Wilbur Morrison on September 17, 1999; and his mother-in-law, Lily Jane Morrison on May 17, 2008.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 & 7 PM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Friday, April 21st at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. 

Memorials can be given in Lynn’s memory to Seneca Fire Dept. and or Baileyville City Cemetery, and sent in care of the family.
