Richard Niesluchowski, 78, Valley Falls, died Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at his home.

He was born July 14, 1938, at Chicago, IL, the son of Edward & Ruby May Niesluchowski. He graduated from Farragut High School at Chicago in 1956.    

Richard served in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Leavenworth. He had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls.

He worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Topeka for over 25 years and was a member of United Steel Workers Local 307.

He married Carol James, Sept. 19, 1964, at Broadview, IL. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his son, Samuel Niesluchowski, Orlando, FL; two daughters, Dr. Pamela Niesluchowski, and her husband, Travis Nielsen, Oak Park, IL, and Wendy Ribelin, and her husband, Thomas, Crown Point, IN; a brother, William Niesluchowski, and his wife, Sharon, North Riverside, IL; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls. Inurnment will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery with military honors conducted by Grahem-Herbers Post 3084, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls.
