Edwin Dinger

Edwin Lee Dinger, 62, Valley Falls, died unexpectedly Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.

He was born March 20, 1954, at St.George, the son of Chester and Pauline Williams Dinger.

Ed had worked at Humm Dingers Restaurant at Valley Falls, and at Woodhaven Inc. and Welchwood Products, both at Perry. He was a member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and and a Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6671, both in Valley Falls. He was a District Deputy for the Knights of Columbus.

He married Tamera Abramovitz, Jan. 26, 1980, at Valley Falls. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Dinger, and two brothers, Austin and Marvin Dinger.

Survivors include his wife, Tamera, of the home; his son, Andy Dinger, Valley Falls; his daughter, Cassandra (Ben) Branstetter, Madison; his father, Chester Dinger, Manhattan; three sisters, Thelma (Delbert) New, Valley Falls; Marjorie Wickizer, Manhattan, Lorea Dinger, Ogden; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter .

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Friday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Visitation will follow.
