Gary Lee Meyer, 65, of Winchester died Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.

He was born May 10, 1951 in Leavenworth the son of  Edward F. and Gladys Irene Kiernan Meyer.

He was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson County North High School and had attended Automotive Vo-Tech School in Wichita. Gary worked at the K-Mart Distribution Center in Lawrence 15 years, retiring in 2013. He had formerly worked at Payless Distribution and the Lawrence Paper Company. He also had worked and managed Meyer ‘66 gas station in Winchester. Gary enjoyed Nascar and fishing with his family and grandchildren.

He was married to Ruth Ann Stevens on November 5, 1976 in Winchester, she survives at the home. He is also survived by a son, Brian (Jeni) Meyer, a daughter, Robin Ann Meyer, and one brother, Ron (Peggy) Meyer, all of Winchester, and six grandchildren, Chase Riley New, Alexis New, Kameron Barnes, Hayden Meyer, Isabelle Estes and Mason Moss.
 
Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Visitation with family 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, before Services. Burial at Winchester-Wise Cemetery. He will lie in state 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday at the Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
