Rose Eugenia (Grande) Jaques, 94, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born January 11, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York to Carmen and Adeline (Yocca) Grande.  She was raised in Brooklyn, New York where she attended Our Lady of Guadalupe elementary school and Saint Brendan’s High School graduating with the class of 1940.  On November 20, 1943, Rose was united in marriage to William Jaques in Carlisle, Pennsylvania after eloping.  To this union four children, William Jr., Elizabeth, Rosemary, and Kenneth were born.  The couple raised their family on Staten Island, New York where Rose worked for many years as the church secretary for St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.  In 2010, she moved to the assisted living facility at Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt where she has been a resident since.  Rose was a huge sports fan of teams which consisted mostly from the East Coast where she was born and raised.  She loved New York Jets football, New York Mets baseball, and New York Rangers hockey. 
Rose passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Nebraska having reached the age of ninety-four years, nine months, and four days.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William Jaques, and son William Jaques Jr.
Rose is survived by her loving children: Betty Manley and her husband Leo of Dawson, NE; Rosemary Kochman and her husband George of Tinton Falls, NJ; Kenneth Jaques and his wife Geri of Staten Island, NY; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; 2 step great-great-grandchildren; a brother Robert Grande and his wife Antoinette of Manchester, NJ; and many other relatives and friends.
A Rosary will be recited held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dawson, Nebraska with Father Kenneth Hoesing reciting.
A register book will be available to sign from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt, Nebraska.  
Interment will be at the Resurrection Cemetery in Staten Island, New York at a late date.
Memorial contribution may be given to the family’s choice with a later designation.
