Marlin Benjamin Dailey, Sr., 86 of rural McLouth, died Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Pioneer Ridge Skilled Nursing Center in Lawrence.

Marlin was born May 29, 1930 in rural Oskaloosa, the son of John and Myrtle Mae Herries Dailey. He attended schools in Oskaloosa until he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1947 to 1967 before being medically disabled.  Upon his medical  retirement from the Army, Marlin then served as a transportation instructor at Fort Eustis, VA, until he moved back to Kansas in 1971, where he worked with his son, Mike Dailey, of Dailey Farms, in rural McLouth, where he served partner, advisor and consultant. He was a life  member of National Disabled American Veterans.  

Marlin was married to Evelyn Jean Baysdon on November 11, 1950 in South Carolina, she preceded him in death on March 15, 1976.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra Mae (Mike) Hauck, Rogersville, AL, Marlene (Rachel Duran) Dailey, Lawrence, three sons, Marlin “Ben” (Barbara) Dailey, Jr,  Bruce Joe (Sharon) Dailey, Jacksonville, FL, and Michael Shawn “Mike” (Nancy) Dailey, McLouth, 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that he loved.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Nathan Dailey and John Eldon Dailey.

Services at 10:00 AM, Tuesday at Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Burial with Military Honors at Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.
