Roy Bahr

Roy H. Bahr, 96, of Falls City, NE passed away August 17, 2016 at Lincoln, NE. He was born July 20, 1920 at Falls City, NE to the late Fredrick and Clara (Zentner) Bahr.

Roy entered the U.S. Army on September 3 1942 and was honorably discharged on October 9, 1945. While serving he earned a Good Conduct Medal.

He married Naomi Ruth Karsten on April 5, 1942 at Falls City, she later passed away on March 28, 2016.

Roy was raised in Verdon, NE and graduated from Verdon High School in 1939. He started farming following graduation on the family farm.  After being discharged from the Army the couple established their home Northwest of Falls City until he retired from farming in 1976.  Once retired they moved into Falls City where he had numerous jobs, working for Circle Steel, Falls City Auto Supply, Ebel Seed Co., Krumme Lumber and Sidles Automotive. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, six miles north of Falls City.

Roy is survived by daughter, Sandra Leeding and her husband Doyle of Castaic, CA; son, Jay Bahr and his wife Jennifer of Lincoln, NE; daughter-in-law, Laura Bahr-Frew and her husband Jim of Lincoln, NE, eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, brothers, Walter & Wilbur Bahr, sister, Alma Bahr, and son, Terry R. Bahr.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 22 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, six miles north of Falls City with Pastor Daniel Gifford officiating. Interment will be at the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery to follow.

Family will receive friends Sunday, August 21 from 3:00-4:00 P.M. at the Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.
