Max Dayton Pfrang, of Goff, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at Vintage Park in Holton at the age of 88. He was born August 12, 1928 in Goff, the son of John E. and Alice M. (Thornburrow) Pfrang.

Max graduated from Wetmore High School in 1946 and later proudly served in the United States Army. He was a lifelong member of the Goff and Wetmore communities. Max was a farmer and stockman on the family farm in Goff his entire life. He was a member of the American Legion Levick-Barrett Post 282 in Wetmore, KS.

Survivors include 5 nieces and nephews, Janet Stuke (Jim) of Tonganoxie, KS, John Latham (Cathy) of Wetmore, KS, Lila Krainbill (Milton) of Holton, KS, Dennis Pfrang (Teresa) of Wetmore, KS and Keith Pfrang (Tammy) of Fort Worth, TX; a sister-in-law, Marian Pfrang of Goff, KS and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Max was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ann Latham; a brother, Robert Pfrang and a nephew, Rick Pfrang.

There will be a short Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with military honors will follow in the Wetmore Cemetery. Family will greet friends 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Friday before the service. Memorials may be given to the Wetmore American Legion Post 282 c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
