W. L. “Moon” Mullins, Jr., 90, of Falls City passed away July 24, 2016 at Lincoln, NE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard. A Parish Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home. Family will receive friends following the rosary.

W. L. “Moon” Mullins, Jr., 90, of Falls City passed away July 24, 2016 at Lincoln, NE. He was born July 20, 1926 at Sabetha, KS to the late Warren L. and Susie B. (Martin) Mullins, Sr.

Moon was drafted into the U. S. Army on November 29, 1944 and was honorably discharged on August 23, 1946. While in service he earned a Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, two Overseas Service Bars, and a Good Conduct Medal.

Moon married Laverna Cornford in September of 1950 and they were later divorced.

Moon was raised at Falls City and graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, MO in 1944 and then was drafted into the U. S. Army. Following his discharge he returned to Trenton and farmed until moving to Falls City in 1948 where he farmed for Towle Realty and he also raised cattle. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Elks Lodge #963, American Legion, VFW all of Falls City, Mason Blue Rite and York Rite at Trenton, Shriners 32nd Degree Masons at St. Joseph, MO., and the NRA.

Moon is survived by daughters; Paula Mullins and her special friend Mike Herold of Rock Port, MO, Maria Carter of Garden City, KS, son, Roderick Mullins of Gladstone, MO, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert A. Roh as the presiding priest. Interment will be in Steele Cemetery. Military graveside honors by Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard.

A Parish Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends following the rosary.

The family prefers memorials be made to Sacred Heart Irish Booster Club.
