Mary Erma Doyle, 89, of Holton, KS passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Medicalodges Jackson County in Holton.

She was born September 17, 1926 in Arrington, KS, the daughter of Jacob Richard and Helen (Littleton) Eckert. Mary graduated from Topeka High School in 1944. She worked at Woolworth and as a telephone operator, both in Topeka. Mary also worked for Ron’s IGA in Holton and was a farmwife. She was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church, St. Dominic Altar Society, VFW Auxiliary, Larkinburg Ladies Aid and Holton Business Women. Mary also was a 4-H Food Leader, community driver in Larkinburg for kids going to swim lessons and she made many kinds of homemade candy for Farm Bureau Conventions.

She was married to Joseph Leo Doyle September 17, 1946 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka. Joe preceded her in death on February 16, 2015. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jo Doyle-Fitch in 2011; her brother, Richard Eckert in 2009; her sisters, Nellie Freed in 2006 and Helen Marcelene Marinich in 2009.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Shirley Mick (Kermit) of Holton, KS and Cherrie Kehler (David) of El Dorado, KS; her sons, Lee Doyle (Pam) and Dan Doyle (Pat) both of Holton; her sister Marjorie Sage of Olympia, WA; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Holton. A Rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton with visitation to follow.
