Penny Morgan, 67, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Ike and Helen Rediner Gardner, born May 3, 1949 in Sacramento, California.

Penny is survived by her two children: daughter Sherri (Tom) Martin (granddaughter Anna) of Hiawatha, son Ivan (Jade) Morgan (granddaughter Rylee) of Overbrook. Survivors also include sister Dixie Stermer, brother Tracy Gardner, both of Sacramento.

Penny is preceded in death by her husband Rick; brothers: Doug and Melvin Gardner.

After making a home in Hiawatha in 2007, she was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was an active member in Awanas, Latchkey, and the Mary Circle.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Sheri Caldera of Hiawatha who started her relationship with Penny as a caretaker but ended it as a dear friend.

The family would like to also thank the staff at the Hiawatha Community Hospital for their time shared in care in care of Penny

The family will be holding a memorial service at 12:00 Saturday, June 4. 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Hiawatha.
