Phyllis Jean Chauza

Phyllis Jean (Moser) Chauza, 76, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at her home in Hiawatha, Kansas surrounded by family.

Phyllis was born on April 7, 1940 to Edward and Eula Mae Moser.  She grew up in Bern, Kansas. She would later marry and to this union were born five children; Albert Edward Chauza, Robert Lee Chauza, Gilbert Dean Chauza, Sondra Jean Rice and Katrina Marie Rice. She is survived by all her children except Sondra. She also had eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Phyllis died in her home in the hands of her loving savior, Jesus Christ. 

Phyllis moved to Hiawatha and taught for thirty two years in the Hiawatha and Horton school districts. She loved sewing, cooking, gardening, and entertaining for her Bible Club where she would get to do her favorite thing, studying about her Lord and Savior. She would like everyone to remember a life without God is a life of want, for only with Jesus are all your needs supplied.

Funeral services will be Friday, May 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Popkess Mortuary Chapel in Sabetha, Kansas. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be made at the Bern Cemetery in Bern, Kansas.
