Deleta D. “Dee” Caylor, 76, of Paradise Lake, Effingham, KS died on Sat. April 30, 2016 at the Mosaic Life Center, St. Joseph MO.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 4th, 2016 at the Becker Chapel, Effingham, KS with Rev. Jeff Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster, KS.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016 at the Becker Chapel, Effingham.  Memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Dee was born on Aug. 5, 1939 in Lockwood, MO the daughter of Earl and Allene (Lockmiller) Robertson.  She attended schools in Lamar, MO. Dee had worked at Atchison Leather Products, she and her husband owned and operated the former “Ellie’s Deli, Atchison for several years and they managed the Best Western Motel in Atchison for 12 years. She was a member of Effingham Union Church, Effingham, KS and enjoyed making ceramics, reading, gardening and raising flowers, baking, and candy making. She especially enjoyed her family and grandchildren. 

She was married to William G. Caylor on June 28, 1953 in Lamar, MO.  Mr. Caylor preceded her in death on June 24, 2015.  Survivors include a son, Bill (Sissie) Caylor Everest; daughter, Cindy (Thomas) Jones, Leavenworth, KS; seven grandchildren, Brian (Sara) Caylor, Brandon(Ashley) Caylor, Adam Caylor, Ben Dodge, Rusty Sullivan, Denise and Tabetha Jones; six  great grandchildren, Lola, Elijah, Amaya, Zoey, Abby and Tyler;   a sister, Earlene Rawlins, Lamar, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins and special niece, Janice Dunlap, Spartanburg, SC. Her parents, husband Bill, and two sisters, JoAnn Leahman and Joyce Cook, preceded her in death.
