Janice Ann Schlegel, 69, of Redmond, Oregon, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Ashley Manor in Redmond, Oregon.

She was born on July 30, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of William "Ed" and Erma "Maxine" Hansen Taylor. Janice worked as an administrative assistant in Kansas, Wyoming, Alaska and Oregon before retiring. She was a lifetime member of the Everest American Legion Auxiliary. On September 2, 1965 she married James Schlegel at the Zion Lutheran Church in Everest, Kansas.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Schlegel of the home, Redmond, Oregon; daughter, Shana Irish of The Dalles, Oregon; son, Shan Schlegel of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Donald Irish and Miranda Irish; two great grandchildren, Jace Irish and Conley Brooks. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 P.M. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery north of Everest, Kansas. A special message may be sent to the family at www.dishon-maple-chaney.com
