Esther Marie Rathert, 84 of Atchison Kansas died Sunday, February 7th, 2016 at Mosiac Life Center, St.  Joseph, MO.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM on Friday, February 12, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Sr. Mary Arie officiating. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery, Lancaster KS.   Memorial contributions are suggested to St. John’s Lutheran Church and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements.  Condolences may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Esther M. Rathert was born on Oct. 30, 1931 in Atchison KS the daughter of William F. and Elsie C. (Johnson) Rathert. She graduated from Lancaster Grade School and Atchison County Community High School. She attended Clarks Business College, Topeka KS and Missouri Western State College. Esther worked in the office as a time keeper for Rockwell International. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster.   Esther was a member of the PSI Chi National Society in Psychology, the Omicron-PSI Honor Society, and the National Honor Society for Non-traditional Students. She enjoyed traveling, reading, attending college, homework, research, playing bridge and cards, and cooking and trying new recipes.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
