Glenn Irving Peterson, 90, of Whiting, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Mission Valley Nursing Center in Horton, Kansas. He was born on April 12, 1925 in Whiting, Kansas the son of Irving and Grace Dykeman Peterson. Glenn was a farmer. On August 22, 1948 he married Mary Belle Oaks in Everest, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Mary Belle Peterson of the home; son, Ronald (Joyce) Peterson of Hoyt, Kansas; sister, Dorthea Peterson of Horton, Kansas; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Helen) Kennedy, Ryan (Trichia) Peterson and Drew (Chelsye) Peterson; three great grandchildren, Penny Peterson, Rhett Kennedy and Makenzie Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kathy Sue Kennedy and a sister, Bernice Peterson. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will be at the Springhill Cemetery, Whiting, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Glenn Peterson memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
