Randy L. Sudman, age 62 of Nemaha, NE passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at St. Elizabeth’s Regional Medical Center in Lincoln, NE after a valiant with cancer since 2012.

Randy was born on July 30, 1953 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City; the son of LeRoy F. “Dick” and Amelia “Pat” (Forker) Sudman.  He attended school in Nebraska City and graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1971. He excelled in many sports during his time at Nebraska City High School, culminating in winning Athlete of the Year in 1971. He went on to attend classes at Peru State College in Peru, NE.  

He was baptized and confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City.  Randy married Robin M. Hutton on January 29, 1980 at the Methodist Church in Rock Port, MO and to this union three children were born:  Shane, Shannon and Shauna.

Randy worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator.  He worked with his dad for years moving many loads of dirt.  He also worked at Orscheln Farm & Supply, both in Auburn and Nebraska City stores; an assistant manager at the former and manager at the latter.   Randy was an avid sports fan; coaching softball teams that his daughter's played on, and enjoying watching his kids and grand-kids compete.  He loved watching and cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers; all the way up to a few hours prior to his death. Randy also enjoyed playing cards, dancing, boating and camping. He especially loved toiling in his garden and setting up Christmas lights every year. He was a member of the Eagles and the Sons of the American Legion.

Randy is survived by his wife Robin Sudman of Nemaha, NE; children:  Shane Sudman and wife Tandra of Warrensburg, MO (Whiteman Air Force Base); Shannon Snyder and special friend Charlie Henley of Gretna, NE and Shauna Betts and husband Brian of Auburn, NE; 11 grandchildren:  Kaitlin, Sawyer, Courtney, Haley, Kyran, Layla, Waylon, Lauren, Brayden, Riley and Rianna; mother Amelia “Pat” Sudman of Brock/Julian, NE; sister Vicki Simon of Brock/Julian, NE; mother-in-law:  Una Faye Lyons of Auburn, NE; father-in-law:  Bob Hutton and wife Deloris of Nemaha, NE; brother and sister-in-law:  Laura Gossman and husband Bryan of Stella, NE and Alan Hutton and wife Jackie of Auburn, NE; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dick Sudman on May 16, 2011 and grandparents:  George and Veola Forker and John and Marie Sudman.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nebraska City with Pastor Randy Rasmussen officiating.  Burial will follow the services at Wyuka Cemetery in Nebr. City.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (12/30) evening at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
