Iris Maxine (Johnson) (Galster) Lund, 94, of Holton passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Medicalodge Jackson County. She was born February 6, 1921 in Fillmore, Missouri the daughter of Ervin and Neva (Lance) Johnson. 

On February 26, 1941 she married Ed Galster. He preceded her in death.  She married Walter James “Jimmy” Lund on December 14, 1965 in Miami, Oklahoma.  Maxine and her husband Ed owned and operated a Grade A dairy farm. She later farmed, with Jimmy, having hogs and beef cattle.

She is survived by her husband, Walter “Jimmy” Lund of Holton, KS; her son, LeRoy Galster of Holton, KS; her daughter Neva Harris (Butch) of Topeka, KS; her grandson Eddie Harris of Topeka, KS; her sister, Madella Schreiber of Soldier, KS; her step-daughter, Joanne Day of Holton, KS; 4 step-grandchildren, Samuel Day of Topeka, KS, Carol Eakin (Dennis) of Delia, KS, Becky MacIntosh (Rob) of Hoyt, KS and Amy Ross (Jason) of Mayetta, KS; and 4 step-great grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband Ed, Maxine was also preceded in death by her sisters, LaVella Mercer, Wilma Detimore and Deloris Segenhagen and her brothers, Ervin, David, Ernest, Delbert and Melvin Johnson.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in Holton Cemetery.  The family will greet friends 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home Wednesday, September 30, 2015.  Memorials are suggested to Jackson County Friends of Hospice c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
