Roger Wolfe

Roger D. Wolfe, 76, died Friday, August 28, 2015, at Hiawatha Community Hospital.

Roger was born October 4, 1938, in Horton, KS, the son of Alvin and Frieda Oltjen Wolfe.  He graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1956 and attended Kansas State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Feed Technology.  While at Kansas State, he was an active member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.  Roger was currently serving on the Dean of Agriculture Advisory Board.

Roger was the first manager and CEO of White Cloud Grain Company, White Cloud, Kansas.  He served on various boards and committees including Highland School Board; Hiawatha School Board; Hiawatha Community Hospital Board; the First United Methodist Church; served as past  president of Kansas Fertilizer and Chemical Institute and the Kansas Grain and Feed Association.

Roger and Ruth Meyer were married August 20, 1961.  Roger was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Jane (Bob) Clelland. 

He is survived by his wife Ruth; two daughters:  Kim (Mitch) Nolte and Cindy Wolfe; two grandchildren:  Jack and Tom Nolte; his sisters Mary (John) Schroff of Petal, MS, and Carolyn Colvin of Columbia, MO.

He enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, boating, pickleball, and the activities of his grandchildren.

A private inurnment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.

A Celebration of Roger’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, at the First United Methodist Church of Hiawatha.  Reverend Randy Quinn will officiate.

Immediately following service, the family will visit with friends.
