Karen Lea Stolzenberger
Morrill, KS

Karen Lea Stolzenberger, 68, died at her home in Morrill, Kansas, surrounded by family on July 5, 2015. She was born October 27, 1946 at Seneca, the first born daughter of Valentine and Arcena Sanders Wilhelm. 

She was a waitress at restaurants in the Holton and Sabetha areas before staying at home to raise her sons. She married David Ray Stolzenberger on July 11, 1968 in Holton. They lived in Holton and Soldier before moving to Morrill in 1976. Karen always offered a helping hand to anyone who needed it and especially loved and cared for her family. Her artistic talents overflowed from her home into her flower gardens.

She is survived by her husband, David, of the home and her sons, Brad Stolzenberger and his wife, Michelle, Morrill, and Yancey Stolzenberger and his wife Rachel, Sabetha; five grandchildren, Tanner, Alexandria, Caleb, Valerie, and Adalyn; and one great-grandchild, Vanessa. Other survivors are her brothers Gerald Wilhelm, Falls City, Nebraska; Virgil Wilhelm, Holton; Roger Wilhelm, Fairview; and William Wilhelm, Sabetha; and her sister, Angela Ash, Meriden, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her mother in 2003, her father in 2009, and her brother Valentine Leo Wilhelm in 1960.

Per Karen's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. 

Cremation has taken place with private interment at a later date in the Morrill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Karen Stolzenberger Memorial Fund in care of Community National Bank in Sabetha, with funds earmarked for the Morrill Cemetery and Sabetha Home Health and Hospice.
