Anna Ella (Sieck) Irwin, 91, Topeka, formerly of Valley Falls, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at a Topeka care facility.

She was born Jan. 23, 1924, near Edson, KS, in Sherman County, the daughter of William Martin and Elsie Dinsmore White Sieck. She graduated from Edson Consolidated High School in 1942, and received her Registered Nurse degree from Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, CO in 1945.

Ann worked as a RN at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital from 1955-1989. She was a volunteer for Jefferson County Hospice and was a member of Sunflower HDU. Ann was a member of the Valley Falls United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and volunteered for the Clothes Closet Ministry.

She married Dale Eugene Irwin, Nov. 4, 1945, at Denver, CO. They were married nearly 60 years when he died Feb. 1, 2005. She was also preceded in death by a half-brother, Ray Sieck, a sister, Ruth Parsons, and a half-sister, Donna Sieck.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol (Fred) Anstaett, Burlingame, Linda (Joe) Heinen, Valley Falls, and Margaret (Brent) Sloan, Lawrence; two half-brothers, Paul Sieck, Lincoln, NE, and Melvin Sieck, Goodland; four half-sisters, Doris Craft, Goodland, Bonnie DeFonzo, Odenton, Maryland, Lavone Bring, Goodland, and Dolores Brock, Wichita; six grandchildren, Karla Meyer, Carrie Mihordin, David Heinen, Matthew Sloan, Teresa Anstaett, and Brian Anstaett; and eight great-grandchildren.

The Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Inurnment will follow at the Valley Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
