Ken Ray Teske

Ken Ray Teske, 64, of Onaga, Kansas, died Sunday, May 31, 2015, at his home.  He was a life-long resident of the area.

Ken was born January 8, 1951, in Onaga, the son of Melvin and Vera Kufahl Teske.  He attended local schools and graduated in 1969 from Onaga High School.  He graduated from Manhattan Vocational School where he studied drafting.

Ken worked for a time as a draftsman for the Kansas State Highway Department.  He also worked for ten years as a laborer at the Jeffrey Energy Center.  Ken settled back in the Wheaton / Duluth community as a dairyman, farmer and stockman.  He was a talented wood carver, creating carvings from wood chains to fencepost faces.  He was a successful 24 year member of AA.

Ken married Linda Manuel on November 23, 1974 in Wheaton.  They were later divorced.

He is survived by his mother, Vera Teske, Wheaton; his siblings, Janet Wegner (Vernon), Onaga, Joy Zabel (Steve), Onaga, Donn Teske (Kathy), Wheaton and Karen Harder ( Joe), Wheaton; his ex-wife, Linda Manuel, Silver Lake; thirteen nieces and nephews and twenty great-nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Duluth, Kansas.  Inurnment will follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Campanella-Kufahl Funeral Home in Wheaton.  They suggest memorial contributions to St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery or a charity of the family’s choice to be determined at a later time, and those may be sent in care of the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.campanellafuneral.com.
