Robert L. Ronnebaum

Robert L. Ronnebaum, 78, of Seneca, died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. 

Bob was born on January 27, 1937 on a farm northeast of Seneca to Clarence “Lefty” and Edith Hochard Ronnebaum. Bob attended Sts. Peter and Paul School, graduating from high school in 1955.

He married Bonita “Bonnie” Broxterman on September 3, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville, Kansas.  Bob continued to help his dad on the family farm until he entered service.  He served his country in the Army for two years.  

He returned to Nemaha County and the couple built their home in Seneca.  He worked for Farmer’s Elevator for twelve years; and then for Nemaha County CO-OP for 25 years, before retiring.  Bob maintained farming throughout his life and truly enjoyed raising cattle and crops.

He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Society, the Earl W. Taylor Post #21 of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus Council 1769. He enjoyed gardening and a good card game.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence on August 31, 1984 and Edith on December 13, 1990; and a grandson, Derrick V. Ronnebaum on February 19, 1995.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie, two children, Deb (Roger) Deters of Centralia and Rob Ronnebaum of Seneca; two grandchildren; brothers, Clarence Ronnebaum Jr. of Glendale, Arizona and Ralph Ronnebaum of De Kalb, Missouri; and three sisters, Elsie Bennett of Dallas Texas, Alice Sauer of Seneca and Rita Ronnebaum of Belton, Texas.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Friday, May 22, 2015, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 2 and 7 PM Thursday at Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca.

Memorials may be left in Bob’s memory to be designated later.
