Ted Williams, 75, of Highland, passed away with his family by his side Saturday evening, May 16, 2015, at his daughter’s home in Parkville, MO.

Ted was born, May 24, 1939, at Excelsior Springs, Missouri, one of eleven children born to Walter and Beulah Robbins Williams, which is where he grew up and attended school.  Even though the family moved around in his younger years, Ted always considered Excelsior Springs home.

He married Bonnie Hill, November 10, 1977, at Liberty, Missouri.  They were blessed with two children:  Amanda and Kenneth.  They lived on the Hill family farm near Highland about 10 years before moving to town to make their home.  He worked at several occupations during his working life including:  Highland Lumber Company, took care of the Highland Ball Park where he also umpired, Doniphan County Meals on Wheels, and fork lift driver for Crosswinds Pet Food in Hiawatha.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bonnie November 2, 2014; three brothers:  Tom, Fred, and Danny.

Survivors include his children:  Amanda (Chris) Slupianek of Parkville, MO, son Kenneth Williams of Highland; two beloved grandchildren:  Ashlyn and Jax; a nephew who was raised by Ted’s family Jeff Riley of Montezuma, KS;  six sisters:  Joann, Janice, Phyllis, Sharon, Rowena, Mary; and a brother Wesley.

Cremation is planned with a Celebration of Ted’s life planned for 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, at the Highland Christian Church, with Pastor J.B. Skaggs and Sam Bythe officiating.

The family will meet with friends one hour prior to services at Church.
