Ronald E. “Pete” Wells, 73, of Holton, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Colmery O’Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka.
He was born August 9, 1941 in Holton the son of Herbert E. and Elsie M. (Wade) Wells. After graduating from Circleville High School in 1958 at the age of 17, Ron enlisted with the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 3 years. When Ron was 24 he was in a car accident that left him permanently disabled. His first marriage to Sharon, they had a daughter, Tina, the couple divorced. He then married Nancy and had they a son, Todd, they later divorced. Ron then married Linda and to this union three children were born, Tiffany (who died in infancy) Catina and Ronald E. Jr. Linda and Ron divorced. Other survivors include: his sisters, Nelda Rolfe of Holton, KS and Clara Gibson (Gary) of Holton, KS; and his nieces and nephews, Sandy Rison, Dean Bernhardt, Rick Gibson and Penny Parker.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. The family will greet friend one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Jackson County Senior Citizens Center and may be left in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
