Robert Dean “Bobby” Hirsch, Jr., 59, of Netawaka, KS passed away April 19, 2015 at Horton Community Hospital. He was born June 12, 1955 in Hiawatha, KS the son of Robert Dean Hirsch, Sr. and Barbara Marie (Harvey) Hirsch.

 Bobby graduated from Powhattan High School in 1973 and had attended Atchison Vo-Tech for Body and Fender Repair. He worked for 25 years at FlairFold (shutter factory) in Hiawatha and IMC (custom door factory) for 12 years in Seneca.

He was a member of Wetmore United Methodist Church, Hiawatha Elks Club, Wetmore Booster Club and a board member of Camp Chippewa. Bobby was a loving husband, father and Papa. He was an avid KU fan, enjoyed watching his daughters in all their activities and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bobby married Susan A. Thieme on June 11, 1977 in Powhattan. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his parents, Bob and Barb Hirsch of Powhattan, 2 daughters, Jenna Merriman (Arthur) of Shawnee, KS and Jessica Jeffery (Phillip) of Topeka; a sister, Peggy Hutchison (Rick) of Wakarusa, KS; 3 brothers, Fred Hirsch (Joan) of Abilene, KS, Terry Hirsch (Jean) of Hiawatha, KS and Ronnie Hirsch of Hiawatha, KS and 3 grandchildren, Zoe and Xander Merriman and Aria Jeffery. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Walter Bryan Hirsch.

 Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Wetmore United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Goff. Family will greet friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
