Dorothy J. Phillips, 91, Valley Falls, took her last breath on this earth and her first breath in heaven, Saturday, March 28, 2015, at a Topeka care facility.

She was born Oct. 12, 1923, at Winchester, the daughter of Edward and Anna Corpstein Noll. She graduated from Perry High School in 1941.
Dorothy was a homemaker and worked with her late husband, Cecil, on their farm, east of Valley Falls. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Altar Society at Valley Falls. Dorothy was a Cooking Leader for the the Valley Victors 4-H Club. She married Cecil Phillips, April 9, 1947, at Topeka. He died Dec. 13, 2003. She was also preceded in death by sons, Dan, Dale, and Ed; a brother, Tom Noll; and a sister, Mary Hladkey.

Survivors include four sons, Jim (Susan) Phillips, Valley Falls, Bill (Georgi) Phillips, Omaha, NE, Peter (Laura) Phillips (Wichita) and Joe (Cathy) Phillips, El Dorado; eight daughters, Carol Ann(John) Steffen, Low Point, IL, Susan (Don) Craig, Topeka, Mary (Steve) Epler, Yates Center, Alice (Henry) Linnebur, Mulvane, Jean (Brad)  Oberg, Cheyenne, WY, Kay (Jim) Viebrock, Rathdrum, ID, Kim (Chuck) Horsman, Edmond, OK, Janet (David) Falk, Tonganoxie; two sisters, Ruth Ann Proctor, Liberty, MO, and Bernice Scheehan, Topeka; 37 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls followed by a visitation.
