James “Jim” Leon Enyart
Shell Knob, MO, formerly of Horton, KS,

James “Jim” Leon Enyart, age 84, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born March 24, 1931, in Greentown, Indiana, the son of H. Gilbert “Gil” and Ada (Allen) Enyart. He was united in marriage to Beverly Doty on August 3, 1951, and to this union five children were born. Beverly preceded him in death on October 24, 2004. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one grandson, Brett Enyart.

On December 30, 2006, in Shell Knob Missouri, he was united in marriage to Sheryl Ann (Lynch) Campbell, who survives. Also surviving are: three sons-Steve (Amy) Enyart of Kansas City, Missouri, Scott (Kim) Enyart of Roeland Park, Kansas, and Stan (Lupita) Enyart of Houston, Texas; two daughters-Vicki Enyart of Brookfield, Missouri, and Valerie (Mark) Tollefson of Hiawatha, Kansas; a step-son-Keith (Melissa) Campbell of Norman, Oklahoma; a step-daughter-Lori Clark of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers-Bill Enyart of Loveland, Ohio, and Dick (Helen) Enyart of Rochester, Indiana; twenty-three grandchildren-Matt and Jon Enyart, Cory and Austin Peck, Seth Tollefson, Leah Stotts, Annie Ceniza, Ben, Kristin and Amanda Enyart, Britnee, Clayton and Tony Enyart, Brianna, Dominick, Summer and Tony, Emma and Jacob Clark, Jaime Conderman, Erik and Gavin Campbell, and Katelyn Owens; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Jim grew up and received his education in Indiana. He graduated from Akron High School and received his Bachelor’s of Pharmacy degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Jim served in the United States Air Force from 1950 until 1954. He loved flying and was a pilot for forty-seven years. From 1965 to 1991, Jim was the owner and operator of Horton Pharmacy in Horton, Kansas. He also served many years as the Mayor of Horton. Jim and Bev relocated from Horton to Shell Knob in 1991. He was past Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis of Kansas, Finance Chair of Kanza District-Pony Express Council and chairman of the Cub Pack Committee of the Boy Scouts of America, a member and past president of the Kansas Pharmacist Association, a member of the Kansas Pharmacy Foundation, a life member of the Purdue Alumni Association, and a 50 year member of the Hiawatha, Kansas #43 R. A. M., Blue Lodge, The York Rite, of Freemasonry of Kansas. He was involved in civic and professional affairs and served in numerous public and civic capacities, including USD #430 school board member and president. He was a certified Master Gardener and loved to fish and hunt mushrooms. Jim loved and enjoyed helping people. He was very active with his church family, where he was a member at the Central Community United Methodist Church in Shell Knob.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 28, 2015, in Central Community United Methodist Church, Shell Knob, Missouri. Reverend’s Bob and Teressa Clyde will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 4, 2015, in Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, Kansas.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Saturday, in Central Community United Methodist Church.
