Jacqueline “Jackie” K. Olberding, 57, of Seneca, lost her valiant fight against cancer on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital.

Jackie was born on July 13, 1957, in Axtell, Kansas to Vaden and Waunita Heideman Allen. Jackie graduated from Nemaha Valley High School in 1975; and went on to earn a Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Kansas in 1979. She taught school for 32 years; eight years at SPPS in Seneca and twenty-four in the Bern/Axtell school district. She was Nemaha County Coordinator for the Kansas Honors Program of KU for 15 years.

Jackie married Keith C. Olberding on June 2, 1984 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. The couple celebrated 30 years of marriage.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Altar Society and a member of KNEA Association.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Vaden Allen, on May 9, 2006.

She is survived by her husband, Keith, Seneca; two sons, Mark, Overland Park, KS and Drew, Seneca; her mother, Waunita Allen, Seneca; brothers, Tim (Rochelle) Allen, East Lansing, MI, Steve (Jennifer) Allen, Lawrence, KS; a sister, Angie (Clem) Suther, Wamego, KS; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Prayer Service will be held 2 PM on Friday afternoon and a Rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 7PM both at the Lauer Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church at 1 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are for; Coins for a Cause, Sts. Peter and Paul School and Sabetha Goes Pink.
