Louise Branam, 101, Holton, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka.

She was born August 13, 1913, in Atchison, the daughter of William C. and Jennie (Saggs) Ashcraft. On October 28, 1935, Louise married Truman R. Branam in Oskaloosa. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1991. She was a farmwife and was a lifetime member of Jackson County Historical Society, Larkinburg Christian Church and a member of Heart of Jackson Humane Society.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Judy Bledsoe (Victor), Mayetta, KS; her son, Jay Branam (Rogette), Holton, KS; and three grandchildren, Lesley (Dan) Harris, Jennifer (Kevin) Swindale and Brett Branam; her six great-grandchildren, Morgan (Jarrod) Thompson, Caitlyn and Scott Cashier and Blake, Tyler and Garrett Harris; and her two great-great-granddaughters, Anberlyn & Emmaley Thompson.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Monty Branam in 1964, her granddaughter Kadi Branam in 1997, her brother, Raymond Ashcraft and her two sisters, Rosemary Meagher and Virginia Stukenberg.
