Boyd C. "BC" Nuzum

Boyd C. “BC” Nuzum, 64, of Sabetha, died Saturday morning, November 29, 2014, at Sabetha Community Hospital.
He was born at Falls City, Nebraska, April 14, 1950, the son of Charles Butrick and Mildred Lock Nuzum.  He grew up in the White Cloud/Highland communities where he attended school, later receiving his GED.  Boyd served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict, before being discharged.  After his discharge from the Marines, he served a few years in the Navy.  It was during the war Boyd learned about communication as that is the occupation he chose, working as a lineman in the communication field, up until recent months.
He was married to Karen Michelle Rodgers, who survives.
Other survivors include three sons:  Joshua Nuzum of Sabetha, BJ Nuzum and Ryan Nuzum, both of Ironwood, MN; two daughters:  Melissa Clark of Fairfax, VA, Jennifer Nuzum of Minnesota; his mother Millie Nuzum of White Cloud; step-children;  Chris Hudson and Mary Evans, both of San Diego, CA, Krystal Wymer of Washington, KS, Brandon Wymer of Clarinda, IA, Curtis Kruse of Morrill, KS; three brothers:  Kenneth Nuzum of Hiawatha, George Nuzum of Sioux Falls, SD, Tim Nuzum of White Cloud; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter Andrea Nuzum; a grandson Micah Pennock; three brothers:  David, Dennis and Randy.
It was Boyd’s wish for cremation.  The family will meet with friends from 6 until 8 Monday evening December 1, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society which may be sent in care of the funeral home, 124 S 7th St., Hiawatha 66434.
