Micheal " Mick" Huber

Michael J. “Mick” Huber, 69, of Seneca, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at his home in Seneca.

Mick was born on November 20, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Mathias and Verna Maelzer Huber.  When he was five the family moved to Sabetha and then to Seneca; he graduated from Seneca High School with the Class of 1963.  During high school he was employed by Mealy Hy-Klas Grocery Store.

He married Virginia L. Enneking on August 5, 1967 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.  He went to work for Milgram’s Grocery Store and was later transferred to Kansas City; he was then transferred to Springfield, Missouri, then to Fort Smith, Arkansas.  He was employed with Horner’s Grocery in Pryor, Oklahoma.  He moved his family to Seneca in 1979.  He worked for and later purchased the Seneca Meat Market.

He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.  He enjoyed watching Nascar racing, working on his car and truck for area car shows, playing cards, gardening and woodworking.

Mick is survived by his wife, Virginia “Lenny” Huber of Seneca; two sons, Brian (Angie) Huber of Olathe and Mike Huber of Seneca; siblings, Laura Hardenson of New Bern North Carolina, Susie Baker of Tonganoxie, Irene Spring of Independence and John Huber of New Bern, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Cole, Ty, Mia, Casey & Emmery Huber; and Bailey Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Lawrence Huber and Helen McKinsey.

A Rosary will be prayed at 7 P.M. on Friday, November 14th at the Lauer Funeral Home in Seneca. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 10 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Seneca.

Memorials will be designated at a later date.
