Phyllis Cudney, 79, of Hutchinson, KS (formerly of Falls City, NE), passed away November 5, 2014 at Hutchinson. She was born March 15, 1935 at Falls City to the late Lloyd and Madge (Frazer) Law.

On June 24, 1953 she married Orville H. Cudney, Jr. and they were later divorced.

Phyllis was raised in Falls City and moved to Kansas City when she was 16 and graduated from Northeast High School at Kansas City, MO in 1952. When married the couple established their home in Falls City and lived various places but mostly lived in Falls City. She worked for the Falls City Journal and the Richardson County Sheriff’s Office. Following her divorce she attended Southeast Community College and became an LPN, she then attended Tulsa Junior College and became a Registered Nurse in 1987. She worked in Choteau Medical clinic and then moved to Lansing, KS and was the charge nurse at Kansas State Penitentiary there. She then worked at Hiawatha Community Hospital and also Midland Villa Nursing Home at Falls City. She moved to Hutchinson where she worked at Mennonite Manor.

Phyllis is survived by her sons, Glenn and his wife Carlene of Falls City, Dave and his friend Betse Stuart of Emigrant, MT, daughters, Karen Brown and her husband Robert of Falls City, Rhonda Reichardt of Omaha, NE, Linda Marrs and her friend Leonard Witt of Falls City, brother, Don Law and his wife Gertsie of Plano, TX, nine Grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bob Law and a sister, Charlotte Shipman.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Dorr and Clark Funeral Home with Reverend Andrew Chavanek officiating. Inurnment will be in Steele Cemetery.
