Irene Elizabeth Louise (Scholz) Meng, 85, of Troy, Kansas passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Wathena Nursing & Rehab.

Irene was born on September 18, 1929 in Iatan, Missouri to Otto & Eleanor (Waterman) Scholz.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church & United Methodist Women both of Troy, Kansas & Women’s VFW Auxiliary. Irene was a Dairy farmer’s wife.

Irene married Bernard L. Meng on February 6, 1954 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Connie Sue, grandson, Brandon Scott Meers, sisters, Francis Scholz & Bertha Whitlock & a brother, Otto Scholz Jr..

Survivors: sons, Norman Meng (Julie) of Troy, Kansas Fred Meng (Pam) of Troy, Kansas daughters, Beverly DeHaven (Ron) of Troy, Kansas Marilyn Roth (Ron) of Green, Kansas 8 grandchildren 4 great-grandchildren nieces & nephews
